MMS' site seems to be down. Any alternatives that you favor? Thanks!

http://www.soozcorner.com/formulator/soapf...pformulator.htm usually gives me the same result as MMS.

Have you tried using Woodi's calculator?? She offers a 30 day free trial.

And, FNWL has a calculator, too...or at least they used to....

This is another reason to have Woodi's software. I'm about 98% convinced that I need it. The other two % is just the penny pincher in me :purple:

I am enjoying see the cost per bar on Woodi's calculator as well as the way the graph changes as you add and change your oils. I am having to do a lot of work to get all my recipes and ingrdients (and prices paid) inputted, but it will be worth it in the end. And, when I told DH there was inventory control (his job supposedly) he was all about me purchasing the software....as if I was even going to ask him. :P

I would encourage anyone who thinks they are a little bit interested to give Woodi's calculator a try.

And, btw, here is the link to the calculator at FNWL: http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/soap/creator.asp

And here is the link to Woodi's calculator: http://www.soapmaker.ca/SMhome.htm

the Sage calculator has alsways worked for me. When a batch comes out wrong/bad/ugly/smelly it's usually something I've done or not done. Hey, I'd love to try Woodi's software but it works on PC only. I only have access to Macs. I e-mailed Woodi and said that the software can work in a Virtual PC environment. [i] Calling any Mac users[i/] Have you used this software? I feel so left out. Woodi's software really looks like it would take care of my needs. (Is is just me or does that sound bad?)

Mac user here, I used the trial of Woodi's soapmaker via VirtualPC. It's not as speedy as it would be if it were native to Macs though. Works well enough, course it's not as nice looking as Mac software tends to be

FNWL and SoozCorner ask for percentages, which I don't have, because it's not a start-from-scratch recipe. I've changed a couple of things for this particular mold. I have the weights. I just need to calculate the lye.

Summer Bee and Summer's End allow only 8 oils, where this recipe has 10.

MMS is so easy and familiar, and it's STILL down. I didn't realize how dependent I am on it. I'll look into Woodi's.

You're quite welcome.... Pinemeadows doesn't include emu or ostrich oil, which I use, but they do have Babassu.... last time I looked, MMS does not. I like Soozcorner's actually the best, but they only have room for so many oils in a recipe, and I sometimes use more than that....(but I'm trying to quit  )

It's good to have a wealth of resources is it not?

the good thing about woodi's calculator is you don't ever have to worry if her website goes down, because it's not website- dependent. It's a program that you can download into your own computer.
also, what i like about woodi's program is that you are able to list 12 oils, and 18 additives per recipe.
susanna: i would get over there and try it while they still have the one-month free trial. if you have any questions at all, they are always very prompt in answering any questions you may have.

for any of yous who have not tried this calculator, you have no idea what you are missing out on. give it a try!
