It's raining today but I decided to make bath bombs anyway. I packed them into my mini muffin tins (very cute btw) and stuck them in a warm oven with the heat off. well - now I have a lovely mess of bath bombs all over the inside of my oven. silly me. ask dh - um, wtf? apparently gas ovens condensate while they heat. the moisture in the oven set the bombs off. so - a little lesson to be learned - gas (natural or propane) is probably not a great choice when needing to dry bath bombs.

Thanks for the tip! I thought about doing that several times to help dry them.

 yikes!! thanks for the tip :? I live in the tropics and I've found it takes twice as long to dry my bath bombs than normal. I've dusted mine with baking soda and packed them in a mold with 2 sides overnight to stop them from growing :?

What I do is lay the bbs on top of a brown paper bag over night, the bag helps absorb the water/oil from the bbs.

I alomst put some of mine in the oven about 2 weeks ago..then DH was nice enough to inform me that we had a gas oven (well duh) and that it wouldn't work. I never even thought about it before hand..and honestly..it only crossed my mind because they weren't drying quick enough for impatient me. But luckily for those bath bombs...I forgot to put them in LOL

Sometimes I leave my bath bombs in a cold oven (it's electric) overnight. It's a good idea to stick a post-it on the oven door letting people know that the are in there. My husband cooked my bath bombs by preheating the oven...very messy.

moonie - so much for the toaster oven then!!

catwoman - isn't it funny that the simplest things seem to work the best? (I had thought of the brown bag/paper towel thing this morning when I was laying bacon on a napkin to drain off the grease...)

seashore- you (or they, rather) were lucky!!

Sheree - ACK! did your dinner smell like your bath bombs? my taco salad shell smelled like the seashore.

potterygirl said something, somewhere, about using her food dehydrator - that is next for me, as it is still raining.
